My friend Jana who recently moved to Berlin too has a cool blog on art, design, philosophy and whatever comes to her mind. I like it a lot.

I have been to this blog earlier but it wasn’t until now that I’ve seen how much interesting interviews, videos and theory sources can be found on www.americansuburbx.com

Amazing blog.

Especially when you are interested in editorial and portrait photography, Andrew Hetherington’s Blog WTJ (whatsthejackanory.com) gives good and amusing  insights, also with a focus on what’s going in in NYC. Andrew went to a lecture with Juergen Teller and filmed it – it’s quite long but also very interesting. I especially like the moment  Teller says that when he started out, a magazin (don’t remeber if he said FACE or ID) paid him 100 £ per page, and to reduce costs, he bought a 35 mm film (that’s what he still shoots) with only 12 exposures which forced him to work “very precise”.This guy really knows what he wants.

I found this blog where students from Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) collected tons of links to interviews and blogs. Seems to be a good place to start browsing through the photography world!

Over at Jörg Colbergs Weblog he recently announced a portfolio competition – the winner will be featured on his blog (that I really like a lot!). I guess this is a great opportunity for young photographers – I’ll definitely participate.

Joerg M Colberg’s Blog

December 15, 2008

Another blog I can really recommend to all those who are interested in photography and art please visit Jörg Colberg’s Blog (a native german who lives in the US and also curates exhibitons…).

There are many interviews with great great photographs like Stephen Shore, Richard Renaldi, Alec Soth, Peter Bialobrzeski…Since I’ve found Joerg’s Blog, I’m not that motivated anymore to persue my own blog as he writes about so many things I’d like to write about, too :-)

Use the “search option” for “interview” or “conversation”, you’ll really find lots of interesting posts there.
